Counselling | Inner Healing & Release | Spiritual Formation | Prayer Ministry
We offer a Blended Model of Therapy which includes Professional Counselling, Pastoral Counselling, Christian Healing Approaches such as Inner-Healing ministry, Spiritual Formation Coaching, and Prayer Ministry, to help individuals who are hurting. This brings the benefits of helpful psychotherapy techniques but gives opportunity to the Power of the Holy Spirit and our Identity as Children of God, for healing of the mind and emotions.
We operate a strictly confidential and voluntary service to the public regardless of background or orientation.
We have counselling rooms in Belfast & Mid-Ulster (in Magherafelt) where we place emphasis on the importance of comfort and relaxation and so ensure that our counselling environment is warm, friendly and secure.
We can also offer services through telephone and Zoom.

We are a registered charity with an aim of making our professional counselling services available to all regardless of affordability and as such offer concessionary rates, with the expectation that contributions are made fairly, according to income as suggested below.
- Student or Young Person: £5 per session
- Unemployed & Receiving Benefits: £5-10 per session
- Employed Person (part time – full time): £15 – 35+ per session
- Working Couples: £20-45+ per session
If you are unable to make a contribution at any time, or less than our suggested contributions, we will understand and would like to assure you that this will in no way affect your counselling time or our commitment to you.

Those who serve within the Ministry are trained in a variety of professional & ministry skills and have backgrounds in various denominations of Christianity; but all share common belief in the Power of the Holy Spirit for everyday life matters.
Counsellors at TRM are all:
- trained, experienced and equipped with skills of maturity, wisdom, understanding and compassion.
- subject to external supervision ensuring safe & best practice for all clients.
- adhere to the ethical and professional standards of the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) who exist to facilitate provision by Christians of quality counselling and pastoral care.
- able to integrate a variety of counselling skills from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural and person-centred theories, depending on the unique needs of each client, to help uncover distorted thoughts and beliefs in order to renew the mind
After counselling, the outcome for many people is a release from feelings of helplessness, loss and confusion and an ability to feel more peace, joy, confidence, self-esteem.
Inner Healing & Prayer Ministry
What differentiates us from other mainstream counselling services is that we approach problems on the basis that we are tri-party beings with issues of the Spirit as well as the Soul (Mind, Will, Intellect & Emotions) and Body and we work with the Holy Spirit to bring revelation on root causes of problems and seek Inner Healing to affected areas of Spirit, Soul and Body.

Through many years of ministry we have come to realise it is not only the hurting community that requires helps like inner healing, prayer ministry, counselling & pastoral care but that many are without knowledge of the power that God has given us for life; others have the knowledge but lack confidence in applying it to life’s circumstances. For this reason, we have grown into additional dimensions such as teaching, spiritual formation/spiritual direction, creative therapeutic techniques, Christian life-coaching and mentoring, to motivate and empower each believer to reach his/her full potential and destiny in Christ. We are each unique and learn and hear from God in different ways.
Equipping the Saints for the Work of the Ministry
We also offer a variety of ways to teach and equip individuals, leaders and prayer ministry teams who desire to understand the various roots of brokenness in life and the various pathways there are towards healing so that they are better able to provide care appropriate to individual need.

History
The TRM Ministry/Mission is the product of the vision and effort of a small group of people, who have had a passion in God to see people released from troublesome issues in their lives; to help them find healing that is available from closer relationship with their Father God and His love for them, alongside the empowerment of the Holy Spirit for everyday life.
From the early concept of this work back in 1983 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, until the present day, Times of Refreshing Ministries has sought to bring Godly knowledge and understanding to every believer.
The Holy Spirit has inspired and motivated us from the Word of God that says, “My people are destroyed for lack of Knowledge.” Hosea 4:6
We rely on and are committed to being guided, led, at all times by the Power of the Holy Spirit who is after all our “Wonderful Counsellor” (Isaiah 9:6), the one whom Jesus spoke about,
…the parakletos, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things John 14:26
We seek and pray for Wisdom first, in all our ways.
